functional trainig: can help improve performance by linking your entire body together to perform as a cohesive unit. It generally targets the core muscles of the abdomen and lower back. Weight machines have many advantages but they typically isolate specific muscles rather than a series of them and thus do not imitate one's natural movements.

Functional training emphasizes the body's natural ability to move in three anatomical planes of motion. A functional exercise will utilize reflex responses to keep balance, force the body to maintain a center of gravity and/or have a high carryover into work or sport. These movements have been shown to improve strength, power, endurance, flexibility, coordination, balance, agility and speed. Full-body exercises, compared to single-joint exercises, restrict local fatigue, reduce stress on individual joints and increase coordination.

Hasanen Power Wear products are ideal for functional training since they do not restrict normal movement nor do they hinder coordination. The added weight stimulates the exact muscles that are normally used in a sport or activity. Because they are so comfortable to wear, you may even forget you have them on!

core strength training: The core consists of many different muscles that stabilize the spine and pelvis and run the entire length of the torso. These muscles stabilize the spine, pelvis and shoulder and provide a solid foundation for movement in the extremities. Core conditioning exercise programs need to target all these muscle groups to be effective. A strong core distributes the stresses of weight-bearing and protects the back. The goal of core stability is to maintain a solid, foundation and transfer energy from the center of the body out to the limbs.

All powerful movements originate from the center of the body out, and never from the limbs alone. Before any powerful, rapid muscle contractions can occur in the limbs, the spine must be solid and stable and the more stable the core, the most powerful the extremities can contract. Training the muscles of the core also corrects postural imbalances that can lead to injuries. The biggest benefit of core training is to develop functional fitness - that is, fitness that is essential to both daily living and regular activities.

Unlike other weighted clothing, Hasanen Power Wear shorts, vests and suits are ideally balanced and focused on the core. They are excellent tools to get even more out of your core strength training.

Sport-specific strength: Sport-specific strength training programs are fundamental to an athlete’s development and success. The principle of specificity states that training should mirror the demands of the sport as closely as possible. This applies not only to way the body’s energy systems and neuromuscular system is taxed (through manipulation of intensity and rest intervals etc) but also to the movement patterns of each exercise.

The principle of overload states that a greater than normal stress or load on the body is required for training adaptation to take place. The body will adapt to this stimulus. Once the body has adapted then a different stimulus is required to continue the change. In order for a muscle (including the heart) to increase strength, it must be gradually stressed by working against a load greater than it is used to.

With Hasanen Power Wear, go ahead and train as you normally would for your sport. Our shorts, vests and suits place just enough extra load to help develop the exact muscles that are naturally used without constraining your movement or coordination.

Speed training: Speed is the ability to reach a high velocity of movement in whatever mode of locomotion. Practising moving and accelerating faster helps to condition the neuromuscular system to improve the firing patterns of fast twitch muscle fibers. Two variations of basic speed training are assisted and resisted speed training. Assisted training (also called overspeed training) helps to improve stride frequency. This is the effect one feels after removing the Power Wear. Resisted speed training while wearing Power Wear helps to improve speed-strength and stride length.

Explosive power training: Explosive power training helps to improve elite athletes' ability to generate power and strength. This is essential in sports that require fast burst of maximal effort, such as sprinting and jumping. The types of exercises used to build this power are movements that are require a maximum or near maximum power output from the athlete in a short amount of time. Explosive (speed and strength) exercises build athletic power and are more effective when combined with other types of training. Both cross-sectional and longitudinal data suggest that in order to maximize strength, power and speed of movement, a combination of heavy and light explosive exercise provides superior results than either training style alone.
